Let’s face it…we’ve all been there at one point in our lives. You may be there now. We can get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of our lives.

You may have that overwhelming feeling of needing to be all things to all people—or at least you’re trying to be. The charade is up. It’s time to take a step back. Your health and future are at stake. Are you still rolling the dice to see just how far you can go before you actually DO collapse? You are in need of a time out! That’s right! An adult “Time Out” to tune in.

Sure many tasks need to be done. They don’t all need to be done NOW, and they don’t all need to be done by YOU. If you are of the belief that it does need to be “ALL YOU, ALL THE TIME,” I invite you to take a step back and really look at the BIG PICTURE. How much longer can you go on like this? I’m not suggesting that you be lax or lazy; I am merely suggesting that you take a few mini-breaks here and there.

Yes, for the most part, they need to be planned because you will find an excuse to delay or reschedule them. By all means, if an opportunity arises spontaneously for short break—take it, you surely deserve it!

Realize what’s going on, and see if there is a way for things to run a little smoother. Tune in to see and feel how life can be a little calmer. Sound crazy? What if there actually was a way to chill out before you burn out? Would you give it a go?

Uptime needs to be balanced with downtime in order to find more balance in your life and business.

What do you have to lose by trying it?

I invite you to take a look and see for yourself if this is something that you can benefit from:

T = TASK: pick one task and allow someone to help you with all or some of it. If that’s too much to ask, see how you can combine a few tasks together and save some time.

I = INTENTION: Have the intention to be electronic free for 15 to 30 minutes. No news, computers, phones, games, or spreadsheets. Don’t worry, the world will still be there waiting for you when you get back.

M = MEDITATION: Find your center and get grounded.

E = EXIST: Get still and be aware of yourself, your body, your breathing. Center yourself away from the chaos.

O = OUTPOURING OF LOVE/APPRECIATION OF YOURSELF: Think of this as an approval shower. Think of things that you are good at, have accomplished, or are on your way to completing. Count your blessings and give yourself some credit!

U = UNINTERRUPTED TIME: Just for you, by yourself. Even if it’s just a few minutes to collect your thoughts or sort them out. This can be a few minutes or a few hours.

T = TIME: Take a few moments to be grateful for all that you have, are, and do, and schedule your next TIMEOUT session.

Trying one of these each day will cover you for a whole week. You can do this!

A good “Time Out” may just help you be a better, happier, more efficient YOU!
